Details
Veronique Branquinho makes the most with the tools that are given to her, or rather the timeless references that have informed the work of many designers throughout time. Subtlety is a must, fluidity is essential, nearly all of her collections seem to flow into one another seamlessly. This collection features Branquinho’s immaculately tailored androgynously shaped jackets and trousers. The jagged bangs and dark makeup on the models gave the collection a darker edge. Blending fabrics with ease, velvet, satin, jacquard knits all made an appearance. Her signature gathered shoulders were also prevalent in numerous tops with subtle bibbing and fraying details. This white cotton shirt features a distressed fencing collar, with felt button closure on the left shoulder. Decorative bunching on the shoulder and darts along the side of the garment give the piece an 18th-century flare.
